Salary: $124,861 – $134,295 per annum
Duties:The Assistant Director – RSV Capability Management reports to the Director, Maritime Asset Management and works closely with the Ship Manager to ensure the ongoing delivery of ship’s capability. The successful applicant will be expected to apply their well-developed knowledge and expertise to:
- Plan and manage capability requirements, ensure the ongoing suitability of functional performance specifications through-life and ensure the future readiness and effective integration across the vessel.
- Identify capability gaps and risks, and recommend timely, cost-effective solutions.
- Develop, implement, monitor and review the RSV Nuyina Capability Management Plan.
- Coordinate the delivery of capability across all fundamental inputs (organisation, management, personnel, collective training, systems, facilities and training, supplies, support and industry)
- Ensure the interoperability of RSV Nuyina’s capability across technical, procedural and human elements.
- Implement and manage capability governance to ensure transparent, effective and budget-compliant decision-making.
- Coordinate in-service management of RSV Nuyina including sustainment, obsolescence management, operational readiness and technology refresh activities or upgrades to maintain capability.
- Align cross-functional priorities and overall material delivery.
- Develop, enhance and coordinate governance practices across key internal and external stakeholders to ensure the shared objectives of capability maintenance and enhancement, reliability and safety are efficiently and effectively achieved.
- Provide leadership and coordination in the development of internal capability to enhance business continuity and professional development.
- Monitor, forecast and produce complex budgets in alignment with Commonwealth financial management guidelines and contractual obligations.
- Review and monitor daily voyage reporting from the ship’s manager and from the ship’s staff on conclusion of each voyage and season.
- Provide advice, briefings and reports to the Director, Maritime Asset Management in relation to ship availability and performance and capability management.
- Provide technical subject matter expertise in support of charter arrangements for commercial vessels.
