Salary: $84,794 – $93,020 per annum

Duties:

Under general guidance from the Workshop Manager, the Fibreglasser/Spray Painter will support the workshop program through the service, repair and/or refurbishment of equipment and machinery, including Hagglunds over snow vehicles, sleds, watercraft and the construction of mechanical assets.

The Fibreglasser/Spray Painter will work with a range of composite fibre and glassed reinforced plastic materials and be required to undertake a variety of work outside of their primary trade.

Duties of the role include:

  • undertake fibreglass repairs and modifications to the Antarctic all-terrain vehicles (Hagglunds) or other fibreglass related projects
  • complete abrasive blasting and spray painting of vehicles and machinery components
  • perform mechanical strip down, repair and assembly of components for equipment refurbishments
  • undertake work outside of primary trade to assist other trades with the construction, refurbishment and maintenance of AAD plant and equipment
  • construction and repair of specialised equipment
  • liaise with contractors and suppliers to source and maintain required materials/products in order to deliver the workshop program outcomes within strict timeframes.
