Executive Level 1 (EL 1) – Ongoing

Salary: $124,861 – $134,295 per annum

Duties:
  • Lead the plumbing and mechanical services team in Kingston.
  • Oversee the compliance and operation of all Antarctic and Sub-Antarctic plumbing, gas and mechanical services plant and equipment and automation.
  • Oversee the key indicators as required by the state of environment reporting system (water consumption, and incineration).
  • Coordinate technical support for the Antarctic and sub-Antarctic stations.
  • Manage the annual recruitment and training of plumbing and mechanical services expeditioners.
  • Provide training and development opportunities to the workgroup, and ensure workgroup member competencies are maintained.
  • Manage and participate in an on-call roster.
  • Implement environmental management plans in the form of PA (Preliminary Assessment) or IEE (Initial Environmental Evaluation).
  • Manage and implement the works program in a timely, efficient and safe manner to meet Antarctic station operational needs.
  • Liaise with other sections and branches to ensure compliance and deliver on season planning requirements.
  • Ensure accuracy and processing of information associated with work activities.
  • Contribute to control of costs in the allocated budget.
  • Review and authorise Job Hazard Analysis (using qualified persons where needed).
