Scenario 6 — fuel spill

You are on a field trip to the Vestfold Hills to repair the bolts on a bridge at Ellis Rapids, an ice free area. You are filling your quad with fuel when someone interrupts and you spill about 5 litres of fuel on the ground. What should you do?

  1. Use the fuel spill kit to clean it, up, mark the site, get a GPS location if possible, and report the incident to the station.
  2. Use the fuel spill kit to clean it up and then cover the area with soil to conceal it.
